L.S.
We will be inviting a number of programmers over to The Netherlands to
work on our various projects.
We expect a candidate to keep 'thinking for him/herself' when handed a
design specification, to include initial testing (where applicable
'unit-testing') before handing over the result and to additionally
document the code if and where this is needed (i.e. you use principles
like writing self-documenting code and will document the 'why' instead
of the 'what'). Depending on the level of competence / experience,
part of the time is being spent on doing additional 'research &
development'.
So in short, your responsibilities are:
Develop & code, test & document, possibly research & develop as well
depending on skill level
Obviously it is important that you can write decent code and that
you're able to vouch for this by providing code that has been written
earlier. However, insight can sometimes partially compensate for lack
of relevant experience.
We need you to be a self-sustaining & independent team-player (thus
flexible), and willing to learn quickly & share knowledge. Obviously
you need to be willing to come to The Netherlands for a period of
three to six months per tour. Visa, room&board etc. will be taken care of.
Our main focuses are:
- multimedia applications used on touch- and narrowcasting systems,
including the related webbased content management software
- business software in areas like ERP/ERM/CRM
Both disciplines are partially related to embedded systems. Your
relevant experience doesn't need to be in both areas.
Keywords are:
Audio/video, animation, mpeg/divx, mp3/ogg, sdl, opengl,
gcc/gdb/valgrind, php/smarty, gui, postgresql, cvs/svn, doxygen, and
regarding the embedded side also arm, itx (epia), c/ncurses, various I/O.
Office location:
Tilburg, The Netherlands
Please direct any expressions of interest, applications, demo-source,
etcetera to ***@foxi.nl. Please mind the fact that the corresponding
website is intentionally NOT holding details on forementioned
projects... ;)
